Subject: Birth Announcement

Jess and I are extremely happy to announce that we welcomed Kaija Ciara into the world at 7:20pm on Saturday the 28th of October, 2000. She weighed in at 5 lbs 8 ounces and measured 18 and 3/4 inches long. Both Mom and baby are doing very well. Active labour started at 10am. Jessica did an incredible job with the delivery and labour. She is a trooper. I am also happy to report that I did not faint as I expected I would, however I am still suffering from a severe case of shock. I am also still unsure how something so cute and precious (I'm not just saying that because I am her Dad) could be half me. She must get all her looks from her Mommy.
